Many people are familiar with Brown v. Board of Education,

But there is so much more to the story...

Brown was a pivotal contribution to the legal struggle for educational equality in the United States. The road to Brown, however, began over 100 years earlier and is paved with the contributions of over 100 families who filed lawsuits against schools who refused to admit their children simply because of the color of their skin. These over 100 legal cases make up the bricks that line the path to Brown.

The legal struggle against segregated schooling began with a little girl & ended with a little girl.

Attorney, Robert Morris who argued Robert's case

In 1849, Sarah Roberts and her father fought the schools in Boston, Massachusetts who made her walk over a mile to the Black school when the White school was closer to her home. Sarah lost that fight.

In 1954, over 100 years later, Linda Brown and her father fought the school in Topeka, Kansas for making her walk over a mile to a Black school and they won that fight!
